The CCCCDA Mens and Ladies Singles tournament was held at the Hornby Club. A total of 35 players registered for the event Including 23 Men and 12 Ladies.

The eventual winner of the Mens event was Craig Ross of the Hornby Club.

The runner up was Peter Taplin of the Kaiapoi Club.

The third equal place were Jordan Whyte of the Woolston Club and Jim Poole of the Hornby Club.

The winner of the Ladies event was Jane Harrington of the Kaiapoi Club.

The runner up of the Ladies event was Mamaeroa Ngata Stevens of the Kaiapoi Club.

The third equal place were Maata Atkins and Sarah Pitama both of the Hornby Club

The CCCCDA Solway Pairs tournament was held at the Woolston Club. A total of 5 pairs registered for the event.

The eventual winners of the event was Katie Martin and Greg McGee from Woolston.

The runners up were Lois and David Grafton of the New Brighton Club.

The third place pair were Kathy Baker and Mike Scott of the Kaiapoi Club, due to the low number of entries there is no prize payment for third place.

Many thanks must go the Woolston Club for hosting the competition in addition to adding $100 to the prize fund and to Janice Pitama for her efforts in controlling the tournament.

21st March 2018

The CCCCDA Cricket Cup tournament was held at the Woolston Club. A total of 7 teams registered for the event.

The eventual winners of the event was the Richmond club. The Team were Chris Jessett, Jim Clarke, Andy Renata and Lorraine Dennison.

The runners up were the Kaiapoi club. The Team were Mike Scott, Carl Berg, Vic Harbord and Peter Taplin.

The joint third place were Templeton RSA, (Keith McIlhenney, Graeme Woodley, Jamie Thomas and Robyn McIlhenney) and the Hornby Club (Maata Atkins, Anthony Atkins, Chris Mataki and Wes Edwards)

The CCCCDA Cricket Pairs tournament was held at the Woolston Club. A total of 18 pairs registered for the event.

The eventual winners of the event were the Kaiapoi pairing of John Hurring and Ben Robb

The runners up were the Richmond Pairing of Chris Jessett and Malcolm Hayward

The joint third place were both from the Kaiapoi Club, Ken Shore and Vic Harbord, Keith Sheppard and Nigel May.

The CCCCDA Summer round concluded with Kaiapoi A the eventual winners

The Kaiapoi A team consisted of John Hurring, Barry Metcalfe, Nik Harrison and Jordan MetcalfeThe runners up were New Brighton A. The grand final team being David Grafton, Lennie Smith, John Connolly and Todd Lintott

Third place went to Richmond B team, consisting of John Catanach, Malcolm Hayward, Dave Gaskin and Andy Newman

Congratulations to Kaiapoi for taking out the Summer round for a third consecutive year, and to John Hurring for being undefeated through the tournament.

The CCCCDA AEM Invitational tournament was held at the Cashmere Club.

The eventual winner of the Mens event was Haupai Puha of the New Brighton club. The runner up was Colin Barrett of the New Brighton Club and the third equal places were Vic Harbord of the Kaiapoi Club and Jordan Whyte of the Woolston Club

The eventual winner of the Ladies event was Maata Atkins of the Hornby club. The runner up was Rosalie Ritchie of the Papanui Club and the third place was Jane Harrington of the Kaiapoi Club.

The winners of the event were Dave McBride and Ray Watts of the Richmond Club club. The runners up were Ken Lewis and Dave Mike Keenahan of the Richmond Club.

The CCCCDA Graded Singles tournament for 2nd Reserve Grade and 3rd Grade was held at the New Brighton Club. A total of 16 players registered across the two grades to play in the event.

The winner of the 2nd Reserve Grade event was John Connolly of the New Brighton Club club. The runner up was Todd Lintott of the New Brighton Club and the third equal placed was Gareth Tolley and Aaron Lewis both of the Papanui club.

The eventual winner of the 3rd Grade event was Scott Cairns of the Woolston club. The runner up was Steve Williams of the Richmond Club.

The CCCCDA tournament for the re-arranged Mens and Ladies Pairs was held at the Hornby Club. A total of 10 mens pairs and 5 ladies pairs registered across three sections to play in the event.

The eventual winners of the Ladies Pairs event were Maata Atkins and Andrea Coburn of the Hornby club. The runners up were Moana Pierson and Mamaeroa Ngata-Stevens of the Kaiapoi Club and the third placed were Kathy Baker and Leanne Bellam of the Kaiapoi club.

The winners of the Mens Pairs event were Colin Barrett and Alan Winn of the New Brighton club. The runners up were Tamati Taua and Daniel Smith of the Cashmere Club and the third placed were Graeme Woodley and Jamie Thomas of the Templeton club.

The CCCCDA tournament for Married Couples and De Facto Couples was held at the Kaiapoi Club. A total of 9 pairs registered across the two sections to play in the event.

The eventual winners of the Married event were Sandi and Preston Ridd of the Richmond club. The runners up were Chloe and Kevin Willcocks of the Kaiapoi Club and the third placed were Rosalie and Bill Ritchie of the Papanui club.

The winners of the De Facto event were Noeline Atkinson and Timata Walker Grace of the Hornby club. The runners up were Erin Birrel and Colin Barrett of the New Brighton Club and the third placed were Sharlene Hinz and Mike Scott of the Kaiapoi club.

Only one maximum scored during the day by Preston Ridd, Preston also responsible for the highest finish of 157, several people got the highest break of 120, Bill Ritchie and Graeme Woodley in the married event and Colin Barrett in the De Facto event.
